A critical factor of success in Agile is a well-structured team where each member understands their respective role.

Fundamental Team Member Roles

Business and Product Roles

All teams will include a product manager and/or product owner. Many teams identify an ownership role with a different title, such as  Business Owner, Portfolio Epic Owner, or Technical Product Owner. Many teams have a Business Analyst. 

Engineering and Development Roles

Nearly all teams include a System Architect and a Full-Stack Developer.  

Many have an Enterprise Architect.  

Some have database analysts, and some have test engineers.

Agile Facilitation and Coordination

All teams have a Scrum Master, and most teams also include an Agile Release Train Engineer (RTE).  

Some teams include a dedicated Project Manager.
