Acquisition Systems Journey Maps

In order to better the acquisition process in the Federal government, FAS has updated its Strategic Plan, operationalized the Federal Marketplace recommendations and continues in FY2023 modernizing and simplifying the buying and selling experience for customers, suppliers, and the acquisition workforce.

Understanding the users' journeys through the acquisition process is critical to identifying the pain points and gaps to then focus on the right initiatives to bring about improvements.

The following diagrams show the various systems used at FAS, plotted along the steps of the customer journey and steps a government employee would take in researching and purchasing a product or service using a GSA purchase vehicle such as MAS/Schedules
