Data Architecture
Data Architecture often defines the essence of an organization and its business; the AEA Team offers various data services which enables an organization to modernize, upgrade, and re-imagine the management of their data. Our Team has been involved in a number of successful data initiatives where we provided the right data service at the appropriate moment.
Summary of AEA Data Services
A listing of AEA Data Services (below) are provided as they would be aligned to a Data Modernization Life Cycle. AEA has successfully delivered the same or similar services to a number of FAS-IT modernization initiatives. In many cases, the successes have resulted in multiple benefits such as reduced risk, reduced cost, and more rapid project execution. As a result of these successes, FAS-IT has requested whitepapers to document lesson learned, which have been published internally and are available here.
Summary of AEA Data Strategies
As a result of "in the trench" efforts of AEA, there were 3 major strategies identified.
-
Synchronization is essential when backward compatibility is necessary and multiple systems share a data resource.
-
Remodel and migrate is necessary when re-imagining a system and then modernizing the data model to support it.
-
Standardized Data Models provide the benefit of starting with a crown-sourced data model vs. a blank sheet. It reduces the occurrence of unknown-unknowns, the risk of getting the model wrong, and leverages existing best-practices.
